BCM313: The Final Reflection.

So here it is the final piece of the puzzle…

What a semester, what a year! COVID has played a dirty trick on all of us, going from face-to-face classes my whole university career to Zoom meetings, Slack and Discord was a gruelling experience. I mean, sure, going to class in your pj’s and waking up 5 minutes before your 8:30am class has its perks. But nothing beats strolling onto campus, having coffee with classmates and watching the duck’s line up at Subway! However, amongst the awkwardness of interacting with your lectures, tutors and classmates via a computer screen sat the golden ticket that was BCM313, what a class, what a team! Thank you, Kate and Giverny, you ladies are incredible and have made this whole process run like a well-oiled machine!

I would recommend everyone take BCM313: Future of work, I have loved learning about Michael Whites Narrative Therapy, not only have I been able to reflect on my own values on a deeper level, I also had the opportunity to hear and learn from my fellow classmates, which has been a fascinating and insightful experience. I was a part of the writer’s group which was a great alternative to the seminars. Our tutor Giverny was amazing, she took the time to respond to all our questions and guided us with kindness, respect and understanding. She also took a genuine interests in our work, as well as taking the time to give useful and detailed feedback on our work. Everyone in the group was so supportive and encouraging of one another, which was lovely. Kate’s lecture content, the weekly materials, and the overall pace of this subject was a refreshing experience.

What I’ll miss most about this subject is Kate and her kindness and understanding for all her students, her relatability, and the stories she shared. As well as her messages of wisdom and gentle reminds that we weren’t alone in any of this, she’s like the mother hen and cheerleader we all needed during this pandemic!

Thank you and good luck to everyone.
